We are currently looking for a Rail Civils Team Leader or Principal Rail Civil Engineer to work for well renowned Engineering consultancy within the vibrant Glasgow office.  Being part of a team in Glasgow you will responsible for the successful delivery of design commissions for major clients including Network Rail, Transport Scotland, and HS2 Ltd etc. 

Within the position you will be responsible for the technical Civil Engineering design input on Rail projects, in which you will lead and mentor junior staff undertaking the Design Management of the civil disciplines on Projects which includes coordinating and managing the necessary interfaces and input that are required to deliver a railway Civil design project.

Technically on projects you will also be responsible for the production, checking, and approval of detailed railway civil designs and calculations within an implementation project, ensuring the adequacy of the products. You will also be responsible for outline and detailed railway design input and calculations (concepts/ design principles) to multidisciplinary design teams on larger or medium sized projects within Rail projects. This wont only be a technical position, but your responsibilities will also include, but not limited to, being responsibility for mentoring and skill development of Graduate Engineers, Rail Civil Design Engineer and technicians, as well as undertaking a team leader role for the Railway Civils Team.

Job Requirements

• CEng or IEng or demonstrable experience
• Ideally undertaken the role of CRE or has an undertaking of the position
• Experienced working within a technical consultancy environment on Railway Civils projects
• Eurocode experience
