Your New Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Buried Services Engineer to join our Transpire account in Manchester or Huddersfield – hybrid working.
Transpennine Amey is working in partnership with Network Rail on the Transpennine route upgrade project since 2018, with an increased focus on providing reliable, frequent, faster, and greener railways to the North of England. Covering 76 miles of railway between Manchester, Leeds, York, Selby and onto Humberside, we lay the foundations, covering upgrades to civils, track, railway systems and electrification to the west of Leeds. By completing such works, we aim to support Network Rail with cutting carbon emissions and ensuring to deliver a smoother, more enjoyable journey to their customers
Buried Services Engineer plays an important part in providing assurance and coordination and integration for buried services across the TRU alliance project. Provide engineering assurance for the civil engineering elements.
The standard hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week.

You will be responsible for:
- Provide assurance, coordination, and integration for buried services across the TRU alliance project.
- Provide engineering assurance for the civil engineering elements.
- Lead and manage buried service coordination activities for the T&E team.
- Implement and adopt the buried services process for TRU across the TRU alliance.
- Work with the TRU digital construction team and within Bentley MicroStation to facilitate automation of permits to digs, providing feedback and clarity for the team.
- Ensure that all residual design risks are understood and properly communicated to the construction team such that all buried services are considered and accounted for.
- Control and create a competency tracker for the buried services tasks being undertaken on the TRU alliance.
- Work with the T&E Engineering team (specifically CRE’s) to ensure that Work Package Plans and Task Briefings capture detailed specific information such that residual risks identified at the design stage are properly communicated and such that appropriate Inspection Test Plans, Hold Points, Permits and other mitigation is put in place to ensure appropriate control of the works.
- Construction process and input reviews, including permit to digs, proposed & assurance methodologies.
- Ensure that regular liaison occurs between all parties, in particular the site engineering teams, temporary works designers and permanent works designers across their section.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of civil engineering construction and buried service coordination
- Understanding and knowledge of MicroStation
- Working within ProjectWise
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you are a Member of Chartered professional institution, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
