The Ideal Candidate

As the Field Service Engineer, you will have knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems, either from the Rolling Stock or the Avionics environment. You’ll have excellent communication skills and be analytically minded, when it comes to fault finding and providing advice of braking systems to the customer. You will have a passion for the reliability of the products being delivered to the customer, and be the technical expert should any issues arise. If you have a Rolling Stock Background or ex RAF (Royal Air Force) Avionics Technicians, you would be the ideal candidates.

About the Position

This role is to provide the technical support required by the customers test team on site and be the lead for customers’ technical issues and investigation of field failure. You will continue to maintain and develop your detailed knowledge of current and future products being provided to the customer, and you will monitor the in-service performance of the equipment to identify problem areas and report this to your management. You will confidently be giving presentations concerning all technical investigations at customer meetings and give briefings concerning product information to the customer.

Although this role will predominately be based out of the Melksham site, you must be flexible, as there maybe times you’ll be asked to attend other customer sites in the UK. All travel away will be fully expensed by your employer.

The Requirements

  • Degree qualified or HNC, HND in Electrical Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, both electrical and mechanical
  • High level of customer liaison skills
  • Good standard of computer literacy
  • Full and clean driving licence

The Benefits

Salary up to £35,000, £6000 per annum car allowance, plus great company pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday + BH
