Junior Software Developer - Central Services

About The Role

We are seeking a Junior Software Developer to provide first line IT support for all staff and contracted personnel.

The IT & Information Security department supports the organisation to carry out its vital business operations by ensuring seamless operation of all IT systems and ensuring the operations are carried out in accordance with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework under ISO27001:2013 certification.

This department is primarily responsible for managing all IT & Communication infrastructure (Cloud and On-Premise), providing preventive & reactive maintenance for all ICT assets, operating the helpdesk service for end-user technical support with established SLAs, providing end-user training for IT & Information Security, Information Security and Incident Management and other key services for business continuity involving technology.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will operate in full compliance with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework established in the organisation.

As part of your day to day role, you are responsible for the following:

  • Operate in full compliance with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework
    established in the organisation
  • Develop, implement, maintain and support new business software/applications to support various
    business needs
  • Web development
  • Front end development for cloud-based applications using tools such as ScriptCase
  • Develop, implement and maintain company Intranet based on Microsoft SharePoint Online and related
    technologies as set out by the management team
  • Create reporting dashboards for business data analytics using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
    and Microsoft Power BI
  • Create web apps using the Microsoft Power Platform (MS PowerApps, MS Power Automate and MS
    Power BI) to fulfil various business needs
  • Create web apps using high level coding platforms such as Quickbase
  • Design, create and update software databases and compile queries to extract relevant data
  • Integrating SQL/MySQL backend databases to MS Access, ScriptCase based front ends
  • Support the roll-out of new local and cloud-based applications
  • Configure APIs for integrating multiple platforms such as Azure AD for IDP/SSO, Power BI Services
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software across the business
  • Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimisation
  • Provide advanced support function to all business applications and software tools
  • Attend inbound/outbound calls related with the IT department from/to Linbrooke employees, contractors,
    clients, and suppliers
  • General administration duties of the IT department i.e., raising purchase orders, track deliveries and
    GRNs, maintaining inventory of software assets/licenses, maintaining trackers in place, etc)
  • Maintain excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non technical colleagues at all levels in the organisation
  • To be a highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times and preserve the corporate values of the organisation
  • Promptly attend Information Security Events and Incidents using the established incident handling procedure
  • Promptly troubleshoot advanced system and application problems through to resolution
  • Escalate technical issues to department head where necessary
  • Timely and accurate provision of support services ensuring business continuity (Adherence to SLAs)
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Operate with strong attention to detail
  • Investigating and researching new technologies, hardware and software to improve business
  • performance and assisting in implementation

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE
  • CompTIA A+
  • BSc in Software/Web Development

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Technology Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer
  • MCSD App Builder
