The Role & Requirements
This role involves you working in a small team at station barrier checks and on train, ensuring that all customers have valid tickets and information or assistance relevant to their journey. There will be times when youll have to think on your feet to provide solutions in times of disruption and youll also deal with travel irregularities.
Its essential that you have previous front line customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment, involving cash handling and customer assistance. You must have good communication skills and be persuasive, confident, enthusiastic and friendly. Well ask you to work a variety of early morning and late afternoon shifts each week Monday to Saturday. Some flexibility is required as you may be asked to work overtime and weekends.
We offer an attractive hourly rate of £8.88 on completion of training. The training salary will be £11,440pa. A benefits package includes free and reduced rate rail travel, full uniform and membership of a contributory final salary pension scheme.
