My Client is currently is currently recruiting for a Service Improvement Manager for a contracct position based in Northampton.
Description:Job Title: Service Improvement Manager
Reporting Line: Head of Maintenance Engineering
Division: Mobility
Business Unit: Rail Systems
Location: Northampton
Safety Status: Non Safety Critical
Contract type: 18 Month Fixed Term Contract
Goals/Mission:
Engage, lead and coach others in successful analysis, development, improvement and implementation of standard operating procedures focused in the area of specific Rolling Stock maintenance. These procedures will be standardised across all rolling stock sites.

Continuous Improvement
Lead / facilitate the group through the defined programme by analysising and improving each group of processes for all applicable sites by deploying necessary lean / problem solving tools be able to understand, with blue collar staff, the existing issues with all listed processes. Once understood, work with team / colleagues to ensure a safe and standardised way of working is captured and documented, with variation kept to a minimum, in the most suitable way which can be tested and once approved deployed across all sites.
Compliance
Monitor compliance to meet internal control procedures and take appropriate corrective action.
Ensure awareness and understanding of Siemens compliance policies and 'Tell Us' ethos.
Wellbeing Support and engage with the business wellbeing initiatives.
Communications Provide accurate advice and data in regard to any matters i.e. reports, investigations and local strategies.
Prompt escalation to line management regarding events.
Preparation of any Safety notices.
Support and as appropriate participate in local information exchanges, i.e. team brief, start of shift brief and tool box talks.
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How Essential:
Proven experience of Continuous Improvement
Lean experience of process improvement in an engineering environment
Extensive experience and training in use of Continuous Improvement tools
Exposure to Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving Techniques, 5S, Waste Elimination, OE, PokaYoke, Standardisation, Kaizen, PDCA etc
Able to demonstrate the ability to instigate and manage change
Able to engage employees at all levels of the organisation
Strong facilitation, Influencing and negotiating skills
Management experience
