We have an exciting position within the Cardiff region for a Bridge Engineer or Highway Structures Design Engineer to work for a major Engineering Design Consultancy ranked in the top 10 of the NCE top 100. Within the position you will be working, as part of a team within the Highway Transportation business unit reporting directly to the Senior Bridge Engineer and Structures Team Leader, delivering highway and civil structures design which would primarily be for highways and transportation schemes.

Within the role you will be expected to undertake new build design, feasibility studies, assessment of structures which included undertaking the delivery of the delivery of design under Design and Build Contracts working with Contractors. You will utilize structural analysis packages to support the bridge design and will be required to respond to contractors queries and attend site progress meetings. 

For this position essentially, the consultancy are looking for a technical Bridge Engineer to deliver design packages of work, so if you are an experienced Assistant Bridge Engineer or Graduate Bridge Engineer looking to make that next step up within the Cardiff area then this could be the ideal opportunity for yourself. 

Candidate are welcomed from either a Rail Bridge background or Highway Bridge background. With this position being located in Cardiff, it could suit candidate in the surrounding South West regions such as Bristol, Newport, Cardiff and Gloucester etc. 
  

Job Requirements 
 

• Experience of bridge related schemes in a consultancy environment either on Rail Bridge or Highway Bridge schemes
• Minimum 3 years experience within Bridge Engineer or Highways Structures Design
• Ideally CEng or IEng, or equivalent experience
• Competency with structural analysis techniques such as Sam Leap, Staad, LUSAS, Superstress, Midas or similar
• Experience in using the Eurocodes
