Contractors Responsible Engineer - CRE (Design)

Location: Derby

About us

Our vision is to create a truly connected rail network, using deep technology expertise and industry experience to deliver game-changing solutions that meet transport challenges across the UK and beyond. Delivering high levels of automation into complex operational environments, we recently integrated our control technology with our own Traffic Management System, a genuine world first. Our service offer will continue to grow, taking advantage of cloud, data analytics, edge computing and IT/OT integration. We are a company that is excited by the possibilities offered by technology and driven by improving experiences for passengers globally.

About you

You will be passionate about the benefits technology can deliver for society, the economy and environmental sustainability. We will give you product and skills training as required – but you will be:

• IRSE Licensed in Design (1.1.510), and Design Verification (1.1.160)
• Highly organised, resilient, and able to manage your workload and commitments
• Able to build constructive relationships and collaborate with clients, individuals, and teams
• Willing to work “outside of the box”, to develop a rewarding tech-related career

About the role

Reporting to our Sprint Team Leads you'll be responsible for a range of activities, including:

• Technical input to identify, manage and meet design/data requirements for signalling control
• Independent checking/verification of relevant project design and data deliverables
• Undertaking CRE (Design) role responsibilities when working on Network Rail projects
• Technical support for Bidding/Project Management on design and data configuration
• Contributing to the timely resolution of Technical Queries
• Ensuring compliance with applicable railway signalling standards and regulations
• Developing signalling design and data competencies amongst your peers

What you will get

With the ability to work flexibly within Control Systems, you will develop your experience in a technically complex, commercial environment. Your personal network will also grow, both internally with our talented technical and domain specialists, and externally across our client portfolio.

Our package is comprehensive, with a competitive salary in the range of £55-65k based on the experience and value you can bring, 27 days annual leave (plus public holidays), Company-paid healthcare cover, Life Assurance and Income Protection cover, and a personal pension plan. We also offer free eye tests, flu vaccinations, interest-free season ticket loans (qualifying employees), an employee assistance programme, and cycle-2-work scheme.

Flexibility in How and Where we Work

At Resonate it’s the ‘how’ we do things together with ‘what’ we do that differentiates us. We want our people to engage with our vision and display our values and behaviours in their daily activities.

Joining the team, contributing to our vision, and becoming a “Resonator” should not be determined by
traditional views of working, our background, or our personal circumstances. What we do, when we do it, and where, should promote positive outcomes - meeting client commitments, innovating, and
collaboration with colleagues – flexibility is key to this.

Our Control Systems Division is based in Derby where we have one of our beautiful contemporary workspaces, although we have a flexible, hybrid approach to work and location – so talk to us about your preferences and how these could work for both you and the team.

Our normal full-time hours are 37 per week, but there is a great deal of flexibility over start and finish times, so this role may well suit an individual looking for an arrangement that suits their needs and commitments, around our current requirement to be in the office at least one day per week.
