Missions & Main activities

We are currently expanding in the UK and Ireland, growing our business and our team. One of the exciting projects the Drainage Design Engineer is responsible for is leading the drainage design of ballasted track/permanent way on the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill extension of the Midlands Metro (light rail). The role will include interfacing with stakeholders such as Seven Trent Water and Canal & River Trust.

The role of Egis Rail is included in a partnership agreement called "The Midland Metro Alliance" which brings together the Prime Contractor, the Construction Consortium and the Engineering Office.

This exciting role of the Drainage Design Engineer will include acting as a discipline lead of work packages for track drainage; producing detailed designs and calculations of drainage systems; producing drawings, specifications, reports and other deliverables and applying relevant railway or other standards.

The Drainage Design Engineer will work closely with Egis Rail UK and other Egis subsidiaries. The role will also require supporting the organisation to build and grow.

The successful candidate will review studies from previous design phases, allocate work to engineers, designers and CAD technicians and will work in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design;

You will have:

• BSc or other relevant degree
• Experience of working in the railway sector;
• Experience of working in a BIM environment;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or other relevant software will be considered a plus;
• Knowledge and experience of the railway standards and processes will be considered a plus.
