Samuel Knight Rail are proudly working on behalf of a global leader in engineering service provision to recruit an experienced E&P (Electrification & Power) Design Engineer in the Cheshire area.

As part of this exciting, permanent position the successful candidate will assume responsibility for delivering conceptual and detailed electrical designs, producing plans, drawings and documentation, planning and organising activities and coordinating resources to meet required deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Participate within the Design team in the completion of allocated works in accordance with programme timescales.
• Monitor progress of works within the team, advising the Design Manager as required.
• Responsible for the design and checking of schemes and location plans for new work and alterations to existing work.
• Assist with design/checking and production of estimates / target prices and programmes of work for proposed work.
• Deal with internal and client technical queries and requests.
• Address and implement quality procedures to ensure that the Division can achieve and maintain ISO9002 registration.
• Perform the duties of responsible design engineer for projects as required by CDM regulations.
• Maintain an effective interface with other production functions
• Provide design costings as required.
• Monitor design errors and make recommendations to stop reoccurrence.

Ideal Candidates will possess the Following:

• Relevant Engineering Degree or
• Minimum qualification of HNC with relevant experience
• Minimum of 5 years design experience
• Competent in design production techniques and skills across engineering
• Self-starter able to work on own initiative and without direct supervision.
• Computer literate and experienced in design software.
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid PTS
• Full Driving licence
• The ability to stay away from home for short periods of time if needed.
