Our client now has an opening in their team for an Electrical Design Engineer in their York team. You will work within the E&M design team and provide effective delivery of client’s contracts. This includes client liaison both in and out of the office, undertaking designs including calculations, layouts, writing specifications, interacting with other departments to ensure delivery and costs are met.

Key skills/experience required:

• Undertake Points Heating Design
• Undertake Lighting designs
• Undertake Signalling Power design: to be able to develop layout and schematic drawings and assist a Senior with calculations
• Undertake Surveys: be able to undertake detailed intrusive surveys, including the installation of load monitoring equipment and be able to write WPP and TBS unaided.
• Have the ability to select functional and economic materials
• Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales
• Have knowledge of computer-aided electrical design software including Amtech and Hevacomp
• Be able to communicate well verbally, diagrammatically and in writing
• Work to BS,EN and Network Rail standards
• Work on site
• BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations
• C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing
