IP Network Design Engineer

12 month contract – to start ASAP

£450/day - £525/day DOE

Flexible to be based in either South West, Surrey or West Midlands

Our client is a well established telecommunications company who are looking for an experienced Network Design Engineer with experience in the IP based networks covering multiple technologies gained ideally in the Power Generation industry.

The right candidate for this role will need to be highly experienced in developing, designing and writing detailed design documentation to a high quality.

What you will need:

• You must be able to write system design documentation
• Strong experience of Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) & Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
• A strong background in Networking design and delivery in both lab and production environments
• To be able to produce high and low level network designs of the highest quality, ensuring security is of the highest level.
• Practical experience of TCP/IP, subnets, QoS, routing, SDN, VRFs, VLANs, VPCs and security and Routers, switches, firewalls - Palo Alto & FortiGate and able to work to ISO 27001 and ISO 27002 standards
• Excellent Stakeholder engagement and management skills and excellent communication.

The role:

• To produce detailed design documentation, logical and physical drawings, detailed descriptions and associated sub-topics such as testing and installation specification documents.
• To effectively interface directly with the customer’s technical and operational representatives and flex the solution accordingly.
• To work within internal design and proactively take the lead where appropriate and to work as an individual when required.
• Customer liaison and stakeholder management as and where required.
