A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a IXL Design Group Manager based in Derby. The IXL Design Group Manager will support the Head of Signalling Design in the management of Signalling Design projects and activities throughout the business.
Role:
The successful candidate will implement the business' engineering management system within local locations and across multiple sites when required.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Functionally manage the Signalling Design Group, taking responsibility for the safety, development, and welfare of the team
- Support the Competence Manager with the execution of the IRSE (Institute of Railway Signalling Engineers) licensing scheme and internal competence management scheme
- Assist the Head of Signalling Design with the development and implementation of a comprehensive design, validation, and delivery toolset
- Undertake mentorship, coaching and give seminars to support the succession planning throughout the engineering business
Essential Requirements:
- Knowledge of and have applied Network Rail RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board) Standards
- Knowledge of the regulation framework of the UK railways that is overseen by the ORR (Office of Rail & Road)
- 1.1.145 ISE Engineering Managers License or working towards
- Knowledge of and applied CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations) and CSM (Common Safety Method)
Desirable:
- Member of the IRSE
- Member of the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology)
- Signal/systems engineering experience in project delivery
