We have an exciting opening with a key client for a Network Design Engineer in their Manchester based team. Having been successful on a number of UK projects, they are now able to add to what was already a fast-growing, HV team.

Principal responsibilities:

• Design and optimise electrical distribution networks ranging from 400V to 33kV, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for proposed distribution projects.
• Design, checking and approval of detail allocation and construction design drawings.
• Collaborate with other disciplines including project managers, project engineers, and DNO’s to ensure successful project execution.
• Assist the Director during the bid process
• Perform load flow analysis, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit studies.
• Mentoring Junior Engineers and CAD Technicians.

Key skills/experience required:

• You'll need to be experienced in distribution networks design ranging from 400V to 11kV / 33kV.
• Have a Power/HV background
• Able to design, analyse and optimise electrical distribution systems.
• A background in Building Services will be considered.
• Must be able to obtain Security Clearance

Qualifications:

• Ideally MEng / Msc in Electrical Engineering
• Chartered Engineer or working towards would be preferable but not essential
