My Client are looking for a committed person to join their world-class rail company in a Principle/Senior OLE Design Engineering role. Offering opportunities to work on exciting projects such as HS2, Crossrail 2 and Northern Powerhouse.
They are looking UK Wide for OLE Support being responsible for successful performance on OLE Projects. This is also an opportunity to lead the support in preparation for new projects such as HS2. You will carry out Railway Electrification Design, checking approval, Basic, Allocation and construction design activities.
Other responsibilities will include;
Preparation of design drawings
OLE layout plans, bonding plans, OLE cross sections, isolation diagrams/instructions
Preparation of design report and submissions.
Preparation of technical specifications
Preparation of technical reports
Undertaking site surveys
Understanding of railway, UK national and international standards
Working in both the design office and site environmentsThe role is based in the Midlands, but as we work for most of the major UK infrastructure owners this will require some travel as project demand dictates.
Business development will be a key part of your role – to coordinate the preparation of bids, develop solid relationships with key clients, and proactively promote our services through internal and external networking opportunities such as relevant seminars, conferences and other events.

Have the ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing.
Extensive experience working for an engineering consultancy within the rail sector
Essential competencies / skills:
Substantial experience and be able to demonstrate the following:
Experience in OLE design throughout project lifecycles.
Detailed knowledge and experience of Network Rail design approval process at CRE level.
Technical design experience to carry out supervision and project management of staff.
Capable of producing and checking a wide variety of OLE design details.
Have an understanding of system engineering concepts and safety management.
Desirable Competencies / Skills:
Chartered Engineer or equivalent,
Proven record of successfully managing the performance of teams and the development of staff in their careers
A record of ensuring programme performance including commercial, financial and technical delivery.
Proven business development skills, including the building of strong client relationships
