Principal Design Engineer / Reading / Up to £400 per day

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Bespoke Design Consultancy within the rail industry. They are actively seeking an OLE Design Engineer to join the design team in Reading at Project Engineer level.

Due to further growth within the design business, they are actively seeking an OLE Design Engineer to join the design team at Project Engineer level. tHEY are supporting a number of high profile, landmark projects across the UK and are looking to strengthen teams to deliver these works and our growth strategy in design.

The role will be based in Reading.

Role requirements:

• You will need to be degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, and working towards chartership;
• You will need to have proven experience (minimum 3 years) in OLE design, ideally with knowledge of Network Rail OLE standards and systems (series 1&2, MKIIIB, GEFF, UK master series, etc.) and will have worked on Network Rail projects;
• Proven skilled user of Project Wise, eB, Office, etc.;
• Proficient user of Bentley MicroStation (2D and 3D) – familiar with the production of drawings using a CAD package;
• Experience in managing design interface challenges on multidiscipline projects;
• Experience of or exposure to track side construction of OLE projects and technical queries, non-compliances etc.;
• Good knowledge on the GRIP Process, especially design processes within GRIP 3 to 6.
• You will have a good understanding of Network Rail, Group and British / European Standards and Railway Safety Principles;
• Understanding of technical calculations according standards;
• Understanding of Design reports, Civil and Track drawings, Technical Specifications;
• Proven ability to work to customer requirements, liaising with clients and providing data for other departments to work from.

Location: London

Salary: Up to £400 per day
