This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of an international engineering business. As the PWay/Track Design Engineer, you will have the chance to work on some high profile Rail projects and our client is looking for someone with 2+ years worth of experience. You will be required to produce permanent way engineering designs, studies and reports to achieve the required scope and quality.

You don't have to be a Chartered Engineer but it is desirable for you to be working towards this.

This role will be working remotely for the foreseeable future. When our client's offices re-open fully, you will be expected to go into the office 2/3 days per week whilst working remotely the other days.

Principal responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance to other members of the Track team
• Design of permanent way solutions for engineering projects in accordance with client requirements
• Assist with leading projects
• Provide project progress reports and updates to your Team Leader and Project Management team.
• Achieve the scope agreed with the Design Manager/Project Co-ordinator regarding the effective delivery of projects to current engineering and safety standards.
• Assist in the development of staff within the Track team.
• Maintain good, established relationships with external parties.

Key skills/experience required:

• Proficient at PWay engineering alignment design and track components specification.
• Experienced with CAD design including use of Microstation, Bentley RailTrack/OpenRail and ClearRoute 2.
• Knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with Permanent Way design.
• Knowledge of construction principles and standards.
• Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the demands of the role.
