Polish Speaking Design Lead in Warsaw, Poland

Our Egis team in Poland is expanding, as we are searching for a Design Lead.

In this role you will have opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders and partners, pitching designs and understanding client needs.

Egis is involved in several contracts in the railway sector and intend to increase its activity and its key resources in Poland.

The Design Lead will be responsible for delivering all design elements on times and on budget (overall design production and quality, design budget and schedule, design risks) from concept through preliminary and Detailed Design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in managing the project design, set standards and provide direction to the team of design engineers - all disciplines coordination
  • Develop and manage productivity and continuously improve the design team’s production capabilities from concept to hand-over
  • Be responsible for progressing all design and development activities - Ensuring the design activities / deliverables are delivered on time and budget
  • Highlight any concerns or deviations from plan to the functional lead and relevant project manager in a timely manner to support the discussion and development of recovery strategies
  • Consolidate Design Risk Assessment covering all disciplines
  • Plan and co-ordinate the activities of the design (detailed CAD, engineering drawings, reports and plans) to ensure compliance to procedures, relevant regulations, relevant applicable standards and statutory requirements
  • Develop processes and procedures to support and improve design practices, if/when needed
  • Provide quality control over design outputs and production ensuring work is completed with the expected level of rigour to the timescales and quality
  • Approve design reports and documentation to project(s) quality standards
  • Configuration management for the deliverables (Revisions and status of documents)
  • Manage Design meetings – Ensuring regular review performance of the design engineers
  • Prepare/Review and Manage Design schedule - Manage production priorities
  • Prepare/Review and Manage Design budget
  • Coordinate with third parties (operator, utility diversions, stakeholder for land and property objection management, etc.)

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Fluent and articulate Polish
  • Construction qualifications (licence) for designing in the railway engineering specialization in the field of railway buildings without restrictions
  • Proven capability in managing design for a transportation system, especially in challenging environments
  • Relevant experience in the design, specification and procurement of railway infrastructure.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Has good understanding of all relevant BIM standards, design procedures and relevant legislation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a solutions-focused mindset within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and a great team player
