Our client, a large global consultancy, now has an opportunity in their team for a Senior or Principal Traction Power Design Engineer. This role can be based remotely with the occasional day in the office for meetings etc.

My client has offices all over the UK and is not restricted just to the London area.

You will need to have a proven track record in the control on the Engineering managements process and delivery of very high-quality traction power Design documents on multi-disciplinary Rail schemes.

Principal responsibilities:

• You will provide Design management and control for the assigned project(s) ensuring successful delivery of technically challenging rail schemes.
• You will be responsible for the delivery of all tasking’s under the project to meet time, quality and budgetary targets, managing aspects of the client relationship so that delivery exceeds client expectations, providing technical advice and leading by example where appropriate and to promote both the regional and global culture of the business.

Key skills/experience required:

• Electrical Power Engineering Degree
• Ideally Chartered membership of appropriate professional institution
• Project Management qualifications would be an advantage
• Competencies of HV Traction Power and Distribution AC & DC Systems
• Previously worked on relevant Major Projects
• UK Rail E&P CRE with in depth Design management experience on rail projects
• Proven ability in delivering high quality designs on time and to budgetary constraints
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build professional and long-standing relationships with Clients and other Stakeholders
