We are currently dealing with a major Engineering consultancy who are looking at expanding there Birmingham Geotechnical team by recruiting a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to work flagship rail projects such as the TRU and HS2, along with working on other major projects such as deep piles for a major Bridge scheme.  

With the role you responsible for the allocation of work to Rail Geotechnical designers including utilization and working as the Geotechnical design production lead of work packages on earthwork design, ground improvement, foundations, retaining structures and slope stability assessments. You will be responsible for the production of Rail Geotechnical design to resolve client challenges collaborating with other regional teams. This will be a technical role in which you will get involved hands on in undertaking the Geotechnical Design, but also being a Design checker and mentoring to less experienced member of the team.  On rail project you could have the opportunity to act as lead engineer and CRE

Job Requirements

• Ideally Chartered Engineer MICE/ Geologist Cgeol/  MIMMM/ MISSMGE of equivalent experience
• Experience within Geotechnical/Civil Design engineering ideally within the Rail industry
• Experience in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and geo-environmental engineering
• Significant experience of geotechnical analysis design of earthworks and structures for example shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls and slopes.
• Geotechnical/Geology knowledge on infrastructure projects
• Experience of using Holebase, Slope/W, Wallap, Plaxis and/or Limit State
