THE COMPANY

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, rail and civil engineering contractor with a national presence and a company turnover approaching circa £300m (Group TO £500m+). As a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals, maintenance and projects business recognised on schemes and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious, forward-thinking business and specialist in-house rail design team.

Your role with this company will be to take a senior level role in the Design team, working on a range of E&P and M&E railway designs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This E&P Design Engineer role will suit either an intermediate, senior or principal level Design Engineer with a demonstrable track record working in E&P (or M&E) railways design projects. This is an ideal role for any E&P Engineer that thrives in working within fast paced environments with an appetite for being involved in developing key and innovative design solutions associated with rail infrastructure, in particular E&P infrastructure (Electrification & Power) or M&E designs.

THE ROLE

As an E&P Design Engineer you will immerse yourself in various schemes but specialising in the Electrification & Power function of the in-house design team. This will also involve some limited Mechanical design projects but also plenty of Electrical projects such as platform lighting projects and even road street lighting or traffic light power schemes.

Day to day you’ll be kept busy with the sheer volume of these projects, producing intelligent design solutions to support the business’s ever-growing pipeline of work.

THE REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this E&P Design Engineer role you will be educated to Degree level (HNC/HND as a minimum) in a relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering, with direct experience in an E&P rail infrastructure environment. Experience within an E&P rail environment would be preferred but as a minimum, experience in rail M&E infrastructure projects such as platform lighting schemes would be considered.

This opportunity would suit candidates at varying levels whether you be intermediate with just a few years’ experience or Principal level with 10- 15 years’ + experience and looking for a change of scenery. The most important factor for consideration is the expertise working on E&P or Electrical projects in a rail environment to compliment the existing team and assist in delivering the growing portfolio of E&P design work.

THE SALARY

The role is offering a competitive salary and extensive benefits package with the salary negotiable over a wide banding depending on level of experience between intermediate and principal level.

You could expect to achieve a salary anywhere in the region of between £40,000 - £70,000 + car or car allowance, pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays etc.
