Senior Highways Design Engineer

About the Role

A leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy are looking to recruit a Senior Highways Design Engineer. This role with be based in Bristol but you will be involved in a variety of projects across the Gloucester region in both the private and public sector.

Assisting the Regional Highways Manager and PMs, you will be responsible for leading a team of Highways Engineers and Design technicians. Within this leadership position you will act as a technical lead and supervise your teams progress on schemes to ensure that that all designs and works produced are completed efficiently but also according to DMRB and MCHW and meeting the clients requirements. Additionally, you will also mentor junior Highway Engineers, delegating work and supervising their training and development.

The ideal candidate must have previous experience within a leadership position to manage project resources, as well as dealing with cliental. You must possess a strong understanding and previous success working to DRMB standards. Additionally, you must have prior experience with cliental such as Local Authorities, Highways England and other similar clients. Furthermore, you must have experience using design software such as Civils 3D, PDS or other similar software.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Working towards or achieved Chartered
• Working towards or achieved Incorporated status and corporate membership of ICE, IHT or IStructE
• Strong understanding of DMRB and MCHW standards
• Experience leading a team of Highways Engineers and Technicians
• Knowledge of Civils 3D, MX, PDS and other similar software
