Job Summary
AECOM is recruiting ambitious and motivated engineers to join our Rail team. AECOM is the world's premier infrastructure consultancy, and we work on multi-billion pound projects all over the globe. Recently we have acquired a vast array of rail work from multiple successful bids. Our rail business in now growing considerably and we are searching for a Senior Signalling Engineer to join us here at AECOM in the York office although we can be flexible on location. As a Signalling Engineer, you will undertake the production of signalling design as part of a dedicated signalling design team, as well as support their and other teams with design-related activities. With a strong understanding of the technical and business aspects of the rail-signalling industry, you will participate in multi-disciplinary project meetings, providing technical support to the discipline in terms of production and mentoring where required. Support the Signalling Design Manager / Associate Director and other members of the team with additional duties as required such as, progress/programme reporting, tendering new works, production of guidance notes etc.
As Senior Signalling Engineer, you will be leading a signalling application engineering team to deliver design details to time, safety and specification. You will be responsible for the verification and validation of detailed design drawings and liaising with the design manager to set up programmes and objectives, whilst interfacing with the client as well as the testing and installation departments.

Role Description
-
Produce deliverables from first principles in accordance with client and governance requirements for signalling and associated projects

Deliver signalling projects to safety standards, to budget and to defined timescales
-
Bid preparation and to support tendering of new works
-
Produce signalling designs and documentation at a consistent and acceptable level of quality
-
Mentor junior members of the signalling discipline
-
Maintain knowledge of current practices, processes, standards, and emerging technologies in relation to the signalling discipline
Minimum Requirements
-
Holder of 1.1.510 Signalling Designer licence
-
Holder of 1.1.160 Signalling Design Verifier (or working towards and have completed CACs and evidence in readiness for assessment)

Experience of delivering signalling design as part of multi-disciplinary rail systems projects

Commitment to professional development and retaining the highest standard of signalling design technical skills

Trained and experienced in the use of Bentley MicroStation and Plans software
Preferred Qualifications

Institution membership; IRSE, IET etc

Institution registration; IEng, CEng etc
