Due to an increase in workload, our client now has an opening in their team for a Senior Structural Design Engineer on a 6-month contract, outside IR35. Ideally, you would be able to come into the office 2 days per week but the option to work more flexibly is an option.
Working on international and UK based projects, you will develop design deliverables in accordance with appropriate Railway Group, Network Rail standards and other client requirements whilst working alongside the other designers and partners.
Principal responsibilities:
- Deliver the work on time and within budget
- Liaise with construction teams to ensure designs are buildable and represent value for money
- Communicate with the wider design team to ensure the quality of deliverables across all projects.
- Implement effective and innovative design solutions to meet the project requirements
- Prepare and check technical documents and reports
- Help to prepare expressions of interest and tenders
- Act as Checker or Approver for various types of civil design
Key skills/experience required:
- A substantial amount of Structural Design experience on large scale infrastructure projects
- Previous CRE experience
- Previous Checking experience
- Experience working with BIM level 2, Revit is advantageous
- Experience working with relevant design standards for example Eurocodes, British Standards, UK Building Regulations, and Network Rail Standard.
Qualifications:
- Professional registration with either IStructE or ICE
- Chartered or working towards Chartership
