Senior Telecoms Engineer Are you a Senior Telecoms Engineer looking to work on rail projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so we are looking for an experienced Senior Telecoms Engineer with SISS specialty to join our team in Birmingham to work on the production of temporary and stage work designs. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.

Job responsibilities:
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines (internal and external) in the placement and integration of communication equipment within the overall design
  • Production of design deliverables including specifications, reports, schedules, drawings and technical schematics
  • Production of temporary and stage works designs
  • Management of 3rd party design resource utilised in producing elements of the design (e.g. acoustic consultants, CAD)
  • Management of 3rd party equipment manufacturers and suppliers to ensure proposed equipment is suitable for the individual project requirements
  • Verification of the design against customer requirements and standards
  • Attendance at internal and external co-ordination, progress and design review meetings
  • Undertake design reviews of other concurrent Communication Systems designs
  • Supporting commercial team with Tender responses as required
  • Providing design support during construction and Testing & Commissioning stages
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Registration IEng / CEng and member of professional institution
  • Experience of Telecoms design at both outline (Network Rail PACE ES2-4) and detailed (ES5) design levels
  • CRE experience useful
  • Familiar with Network Rail Telecoms system architectures and services
  • Willing to travel and work at various locations within the UK
  • Competent in Micro Station/AutoCAD
