We are currently dealing with an Engineering Contractor based in Doncaster who are looking at recruiting within design services team for a Senior Track Design Engineer/ Permanent Way Design Engineer which youll work on a range of projects for both private clients (ports, warehouse, industrial etc) and then Network Rail schemes.

Within the role youll undertake the production of permanent way design, working as part of a dedicated track design engineering team. Along with undertaking technical Permanent Way Design such as Horizontal/vertical alignment and S&C, you will also support the team providing technical guidance to other members of the Track Team ensuring safe design practices are adhered to. Typical job duties can include, but not limited to:

• Provide resource estimates for civil / track engineering input to tenders
• Develop and mentor graduate and engineers towards UK Spec IEng/CEng
• Undertake design work for civil / track design elements of projects and check the work of others
• Undertake CDM/CSM/risk analyses
• Check designs to ensure all contractual requirements have been satisfied
• Act as track design delivery manager for small schemes ensuring hours spent are in line with the estimated hours and advise project team of any change in advance.

Job Requirements

• Experience with Track Design software such  Microstation, BRT, MX, PRT, ClearRoute 2, SD Calculator, Track-Ex or similar
• Knowledge of the Network GRIP stages
• Chartered Engineer/working toward this/or operating at a level of a Chartered Engineer
• Ability to travel to clients/site as required
• Proven experience in a Track Design or Permanent Way Design Engineer role
