Signalling Design Engineer (Swindon, Birmingham, York, Glasgow)
We are currently working with a major infrastructure consultancy who are looking to expand their teams across the UK by recruiting Signalling Designers to join their Swindon, Birmingham, York, or Glasgow offices. As Signalling Design Engineer, you will undertake the production of signalling design as part of a dedicated signalling design team, as well as supporting your and other teams with design related activities. As Signalling Designer, you will participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, providing technical support to the discipline in terms of production and mentoring where required. You will support the Signalling Design Manager/ Associate Director and other members of the team with progress/programme reporting, tendering new works, production of guidance notices, etc.

As Signalling Design Engineer your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading signalling design application engineering team to deliver design details to time, safety, and specification
- Responsible for the verification and validation of detailed design drawings and liaising with design manager to set up programmes and objectives, whilst interfacing with the client as well as the testing and installation departments
- Produce deliverables in accordance with client and governance requirements for signalling and associated projects
- Design of signalling projects to deliver to defined timescales
- Bid preparation to support tendering of new works
- Produce signalling designs and documentation at a consistent and acceptable level of quality
- Mentor junior members of the signalling discipline
- Maintain knowledge of current practices, processes, standards and emerging technologies in relation to the signalling discipline
- Holder of 1.1.510 Signalling Designer licence
- Experience of delivering signalling design as part of multi-disciplinary rail systems projects
- Commitment to professional development and retaining the highest standard of signalling design technical skills
- Experienced in the use of Bentley MicroStation
- Holder of 1.1.160 Signalling Design Verifier
- Institution membership; IRSE, IET etc
- Institution registration; IEng, CEng etc
