Signalling Design Manager
Airswift is searching for a Signalling Design Manager on behalf of our multinational rail transport client to be based in Melbourne.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering across our signalling division for the development and deployment of signalling solutions for railways projects in Victoria and South Australia, as well as ensuring that works are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet company and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Signalling Design team for all the SSI/CBI and trackside signalling deliverables;
- Manage work packages engineering processes to deliver the work within the agreed Quality, Cost and Delivery targets;
- Engineering Management, Adapt Design & Design Application (AD&DA), Change Management and other relevant processes;
- Ensure that the signalling system complies to customer requirements and standards in terms of operations, performance, RAM and safety;
- Liaise with the other discipline leaders to evaluate the progress status, refine delivery milestones, and exchange ideas around existing change request or open points, as well as to receive guidance and technical expertise on the product / project;
- Interface with other disciple leaders to efficiently resolve the issues raised during verification, simulation, validation, site testing or to provide design support during the commissioning events;
- Liaise with the customer to ensure requirements and exported constraints are clearly defined;
- Contribute in site testing and commissioning activities;
- Complete any other duties as required from time to time by the Engineering Manager VIC Operations.
About you
- At least 10 years’ experience in design in the railway signalling business;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar recognised qualification and industry experience;
- Must be suitably qualified to hold and maintain at least a level 2 Metro Trains Melbourne Senior Signalling Engineer Statement of Competency;
- Exposure to automatic train supervision systems or automatic train control systems;
- Experience within complex multidisciplinary projects with an underpinning knowledge of signalling design and interlocking principles, standards, components, and fabrication methods;
- Practical experience of the operational requirements of railway construction works;
- Recognised experience in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia or ARTC principles;
- Competencies in Electronics and Engineering processes;
- The right to work in Australia.
