Glasgow Structural Design Engineer

We are working with a large, multidisciplinary consultancy who are searching for a Structural Design Engineer to join their Edinburgh offices on a full time, permanent basis. You will be involved in a range of projects and sectors, including property, environment and the power/energy market.

With flexi-working/hybrid working, you will only be required to attend the office two or three days a week.

In the position, you will be exposed to a variety of structural design software, including Revit, Robot, Masterseries, Etabs, Tedds and more. It will also offer excellent career progression, with the upcoming workload and Scottish structural design engineering market on the boom. You will e involved across diverse projects including new-build residential, commercial properties, listed-building refurbishments, and more.

This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician, or assistant structural design engineer in Scotland who are looking to progress their career and be exposed to a variety of projects.

In the position you will be involved with:

-          Preparing structural designs and calculations of medium and major structural projects
-          Undertake site surveys
-          Project manage and take lead on your own, smaller projects
-          Conduct design reviews on a project by project basis
-          Work with a variety of materials including timber, concrete, RC, steel, masonry and others
-          Work alongside a medium team of structural design engineers and collaborate with other offices
-          Manage and mentor junior individuals and technicians on a project-by-project basis
-          Assist the senior and principal structural design engineers in their workloads
-          Provide designs and calculations in accordance to British Standards
-          Develop your understanding and skills of sustainable designs, pushing to Net Zero Carbon
