An exciting opportunity has arisen for a System Design Verifier, based in Birmingham. The System Design Verifier will undertake Signalling Design and System Engineering tasks that support the Signalling Design projects within the business.
Role:
The successful candidate will be verifying safety related system design deliverables (Schematics, Layouts, Configuration) at a principle and system level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, capture, and validate signalling requirements
- Verification and validation of safety related Signalling design deliverables at a principle and system level
- Identify best practise signalling processes
- Maintaining competencies and ensuring that IRSE and Authority to Work are accurate and up to date
- Mentor, train and coach other Designers including IRSE assessments when required
Essential Requirements:
- IRSE 1.1.160 IRSE Signalling Design Verifier
- HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
- Application of CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations)
- Computer skills including CAD
- Application of RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board)
- Application of SML Application Engineering processes
Desirable:
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) Certificate
- Membership of the IRSE (Institute of Railway Signalling Engineers)
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Tendering system design projects
