The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist are seeking a Technical Director to join the construction management team on the Neom Project in Saudi Arabia.

The project is rapidly developing with over 2,800 employees from 86 countries already living and working on-site, it is already laying the foundations of being the new economic model for the country.

Job Role / Responsibilities

The job role will be work in the field of Technical Director. They will be responsible for all aspects of the project Technical Department. The main areas of responsibility are: design (by interfacing with the Design Coordinator) and construction engineering, obtaining permits (by interfacing with the Stakeholder Manager), geotechnical instrumentation monitoring and coordination with other Designers/Contractors.

• To ensure the design optimization based on project needs, by supervising and addressing the works of the Designer
• To optimize the engineering project activities, by supervising and addressing the design execution, the construction engineering, the permits related activities, the geotechnical surveys and the instrumentation monitoring, in coordination with other Designers/Subcontractors
• To closely support the Construction Manager, by ensuring the proper flow of design and specification documents - including materials specifications - to the field staff
• To ensure the surveying for the preparation of the method statements, the development of constructability studies, the drafting of shop drawings and the support to the Plant Department on equipment related decisions
• To ensure the overall design works for the project, by providing all design schedules as part of the work program
• To ensure the compliance of the design of the works - as per specifications, norms, etc. - with the contractual requirements
• To monitor the design activities or design section, including the works of the Designer
• To prepare the interface management plan and the design statement
• To support the Cost Control Department in issuing consistent reports

Location

The role will be based on Neom, Saudi Arabia.

Requirements

• Minimum 20 years' experience
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia and/or in remote sites is preferable
• Knowledge of design and engineering of civil commercial buildings
• Knowledge and experience in construction processes
• Knowledge of principles, methodology, practices of research and data collection
• Knowledge of effective writing techniques
• Knowledge of computer hardware and design and engineering software programs,
• Leadership and team building skills, together with the ability to cope with stress situation
• Full command of English language; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
