The Company

We are working on behalf of our client that is a global organisation, and has divisions within a range of sectors, including Medical, Energy, Rail Engineering and Infrastructure. They strive to provide cutting edge technology to the UK’s Rail network! After winning contracts across the rail network, my client is now looking to expand their team further with an experienced Principal Design Engineer to assist with the ETCS strategy of the business.

The Role

As a Principle Telecoms Design Engineer, you will be the technical lead in safety related system design and implementation within project engineering and carry out the delivery of Telecoms engineering activities for large multidisciplinary projects. You will also be tasked with performing the role of Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and lead the Telecoms project engineering team to deliver engineering tasks in system development and implementation. You will also manage the engineering risk elements and contract requirements for Telecoms projects.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Telecoms Design Engineer, within the Rail Sector, with experience of providing design for both mobile and fixed communications to support multi discipline applications including Voice, SCADA, Signalling, and ETCS. You will also be experienced in the pricing and delivery of telecoms designs, ensuring designs are safe, delivered to relevant standards, comply with CDM regulations and deliver the required quality expected from this organisation.

The Requirements

• HNC / HND Engineering discipline
• IRSE License in relevant category (e.g. Telecoms Design or Project Engineer categories)
• Proven experience in CRE role for Safety Related Telecoms and Operational Telecoms projects
