We are working with a global engineering leader that now has an opening in their team for a Track Design Team Leader. This is a hybrid working role and you'll have the option to work in Manchester, York, Birmingham and other areas of the UK, depending on your location. This position is made for someone who has aspirations to influence and affect change on key projects.

Principal responsibilities:

• Manage the team and help to deliver the project works and strategic objectives set by the Discipline Lead
• Full responsibility for works planning and team level programme delivery
• You will act as the focal point of the team, showing clear leadership
• Management of the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff in the team
• You'l have responsibility for the recruitment of new hires and their training and development
• Undertaking and cascading objective setting and mid-year development reviews

Key skills/experience required:

• Proven experience in a similar leadership role within a Track Design team
• Significant experience in permanent way engineering alignment design and track components specification.
• Experienced in computer aided design (CAD) including Microstation, Bentley RailTrack/OpenRail and ClearRoute 2.
• Knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with permanent way design.
• Knowledge of track engineering contract conditions and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Engineer
• HNC/HND or degree in Civil, Mechanical or Railway Engineering
• IEng membership of an industry recognised professional body
