Large multi discipline consultancy in Leeds require a Transport Consultant to work on Large Mass Transit schemes in the UK and overseas.

Schemes include Light Rapid Transit, Bus Guided Corridors, Mass Transit studies for major transport projects in the UK and all over Europe. They work with key passenger transport frameworks: TFGM, TFL, TFN, Nexus and LPT etc. Working on key light rail and large iconic UK tram schemes.

The role is suitable for highway design engineers, traffic/transport consultants who are looking to move away from conventional 'hands on' technical design schemes and on more of a strategy/early feasibility role. Looking at the whole transport sector and acting as the interface engineer for the client.
The client is looking ideally for any engineers Rapid Transit, Light Transit Rail, Bus quality/corridors/guided routes, cycle way or Light Rail scheme experience in the UK or overseas. Engineers with good alignment or drainage design, S278/S38 skills looking for a change and move into a more consultant transport / strategy role are welcome.

Candidate Specification

Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:

At least 3 years post graduate experience in a transport/highway related field.

Chartered or near Chartered. (Not essential)

Experience in highway/traffic/transport schemes.

Good multi-disciplinary knowledge of transport infrastructure related issues.

Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.

A working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

The initial role will be to lead specific tasks and co-ordinate a growing team on a prestigious major transport infrastructure schemes. The individual will have the opportunity to develop their technical and project management skills as well as work closely with other teams such as bridges, environment, highways and rail.

There will be the opportunity to take projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation.
