Join us as a Control Centre Operative, and you’ll be part of a Rail Engineering team that gets all of our passengers where they want to be – when they need to be there. We’re all about creating positive passenger and customer experiences that play their part in making every journey better, whether we’re looking after maintenance, passenger safety or anything in between. You’ll help us to get the balance right – not least so we can continue investing in our world-class environment. We’re already a profitable airport and, with expansion in the pipeline, this is an exciting time for you to get on board. Not least because you'll be doing work that you can take real pride in as part of a close-knit, supportive team.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Effectively monitoring the system and ensuring the trains and vehicles run smoothly from a control centre, as well as ensuring stoppages are dealt with appropriately
  • Ensuring any failures are logged updating the asset management system and the performance metrics
  • Operate safely at all times. Adhering to procedures and proactively spotting hazards to reduce risk and ensure a safe working environment
  • Provide a great customer experience by communicating with key stakeholders to update as required using various mediums available.

These Skills are Essential:

  • Being able to make key decisions and take responsibility on outcomes, whilst ensuring work delivered is to a high standard
  • Full and assessed knowledge of relevant national or and standards
  • Previous experience working in a role controlled by a safety management system

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Experience of working in a similar setting or a large complex environment.
  • Knowledge of Heathrow regulations
