Electrical Design Engineer

The purpose of this role is to develop and produce electrical design solutions for all projects, to ensure that activities undertaken by the Design Engineering team achieve the quality, financial and delivery requirements and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.

Also open to more junior level Design Engineers looking for an opportunity to expand on experience and knowledge with incredible support!

Key responsibilities for this Electrical Design Engineer:

- Responsible for the production of 3D models and 2D drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, conduit runs and cable routing.
- Ensure that all work packages are delivered to budget, technical, quality and delivery requirements.
- Support a rigorous approach to estimating during the bidding process resulting in accurate and achievable project budgets and high-quality competitive bids.
- Contribute to implementation of change within the design department.
- To provide technical support, advice and guidance to other team members.
- Provide regular updates for all live work packages to enable overall design progress to be reported.

Experience required for this Electrical Design Engineer role:

- Preferably experience within rolling stock, however not essential!
- Experience of creating 3D modelling using Solid Edge CAD.
- Experience of 2D schematics, wiring diagrams and harness drawings using Solid Edge CAD.
- Experience within electrical systems integration design and vehicle modifications.
- Project and work package delivery to time, cost and quality constraints.
- Proven record of building effective relationships with customers and suppliers.
