Are you an Electrical Engineer who is looking for a stable and long-term career in the rail industry working on some of the UK’s most prestigious and highly valued projects? An OEM is looking for an Electrical Engineer who can design Traction and Propulsion systems due to rapid expansion of their global business endeavours.
The Opportunity:
To design the traction and propulsion systems for new trains as an Electrical Engineer. This includes designing from first principle for bids and tenders as well as maintenance and upgrade work on existing fleets of rolling stock.

A global, OEM with around 40 offices all over the world. The UK HQ is based in Central London. With turnover exceeding billions of pounds, there is no shortage of current or future work. They employee over 10,000 staff globally and are involved in many sectors but mainly focus on the rail and infrastructure sectors. They have been involved in rail for over 100 years and have supplied and worked on some of famous rail projects. They continue to upkeep these projects with maintenance and have expertise in highspeed rail, light rail, driverless technology, and electrification.
They have expanded organically and won many major projects in the UK. They have also made acquisitions to affirm their global position as a market leader. They have additional capability to now complete digital designs and growth, signalling and turnkey solutions which has all helped contribute to their diversified portfolio and substantial increase in revenue.
The company is ambitious and is currently growing and looking to offer more R&D lead solutions while delivering competitive, market leading, sustainable, and innovative technologies which has led them to requiring more Electrical Engineers.
Renumeration and benefits for Electrical Engineering position:
£65k - £70K
Up to 9% pension contributions
23 days holidays (with a flexible purchase or selling of 5 days if required) + 8 Bank Holidays
Standard working hours of 9am – 5pm

About You:
It is essential that you have a BEng degree as minimum in Electrical Engineering and 2 years’ experience in Traction and Propulsions design for the rail industry or 5 years’ experience if to be considered from other areas of industry such as aerospace, energy, defence, or waste management or any other area which may use these systems.
