Our client is a well-known rolling stock company who has made a name themselves as a professional outfit. With over 100 years’ experience they are known for being the world’s leading manufacturer of rolling stock components and supplier of additional sub-systems for rail and commercial vehicles.

The Candidate:

Looking to break in to the rolling stock industry? Hoping for a long-term contract? Looks like you are in luck today! Our client is hiring for their refurbishment project and is seeking an electrical fitter for this long-term project. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical skills and come from a rolling stock or forces (RAF, Navy, Army) background working on trains or aircrafts such as Chinooks, Lynx and Seakings etc…where you will have carried out various electrical tasks.

The Role:

Working alongside the vehicle builders who will be removing ceiling panels, you will be tasked with a range of electrical duties such as removals, installations, cabling / wiring, fault-finding, point to point tests and rectification of key electrical components.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role you must have a Rolling Stock or a Forces (RAF, Navy, Army) background, electrically biased, hold an NVQ Level 3 or Full Apprenticeship engineering qualification. Must be able to attend a medical that includes sight / hearing and a drug and alcohol test.

Rate of pay and Hours: £18 per hour for standard hours (Monday – Friday) with weekday & weekend overtime up to £21 per hour.
