The Role:
This role is responsible for the electrical testing and inspection of company assets. Working as part of the Plant and Tunnelling operations team and providing full operational support to all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Service & Maintenance
Complete initial verification and periodic testing and certification of equipment.
Responsible for the electrical service and maintenance of specialist and tunnelling equipment.
To include IE control cabins, cables, de-sander, centrifuges, pumps etc.
Attend site to connect tunnelling equipment to onsite power supply, and certify to confirm inspection and test.
Raise workshop jobs in the system detailing hours and parts used for all service, maintenance and repair work completed.
Request parts for workshop jobs to be ordered using the workshop module in the system.
Ensure damage repairs are processed as rechargeable in the system where applicable and photographs are submitted to support charges.
Request purchase orders to be raised for parts for stock, and suggest stock holding requirements to management.
Identify equipment for disposal and highlight to management.
Commercial
Report stock issues and highlight where customer orders could potentially be delayed. Complete stock audits as requested, feeding back to management and Quality Team.
Support the business during annual stock checks.
On Site Service & Maintenance
Complete onsite service and maintenance for mechanical and non-mechanical plant and specialist equipment, following manufacture guidelines and company processes. Create workshop jobs for all scheduled on site work. Complete hand written job cards for all un-scheduled work completed. Enter information for hours and parts used on return to the depot.
Liaise with the customer during all on site work to ensure they are aware of progress and potential down time of equipment.
Commercial
Maintain accurate stock levels within the system by ensuring orders are picked accurately.
Report stock issues and highlight where customer orders could potentially be delayed.
Complete stock audits as requested, feeding back to management and Quality Team.
Support the business during annual stock checks.
Health and Safety
Complete tasks in accordance with depot risk assessments, notify the Team Leader of any potential noncompliance.
Report accidents and near misses using the correct methods.
Ensure the correct PPE is used in the depot at all times.
Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards.
Complete weekly checks for all equipment used as listed in department file
Quality
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to Management.
Work to agreed timescales updating the Team Leader where required.
Maintain good communication with Team Leaders and Management at all times.

Person Specification:
Previous experience working as an Electrician with specialist equipment
17th Edition qualified
BS2391 or 2394 & 2395 qualified
Computer literate
Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Ability to work well within a team, offering support to others
Driving licence
FLT Licence (Desirable)
