About the company:
We are a leading engineering company that specialises in M&E and E&P projects for the rail industry. We work with Network Rail and major Tier 1 contractors to deliver various small to medium sized packages of design and/or installation work across the UK. We also provide testing, inspection, surveying, and maintenance services for our clients.
About the role:
As an assistant project manager / project engineer, you will be supporting the project manager in managing the delivery of multiple M&E and E&P projects from inception to completion. You will assist with the health and safety, contract administration, procurement, programming, and reporting aspects of the projects. You will also be involved in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the M&E and E&P works on site.
About you:
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in M&E or E&P engineering, preferably in the rail industry.
- You have relevant competencies and qualifications, such as PTS, COSS, electrical trade qualification or engineering qualification, ECS/CSCS, SMSTS or similar, and previous CRE approvals and experience.
- You have strong knowledge and experience in M&E and E&P works, such as signalling power, points heating, junction lighting, walkway lighting, earthing and bonding, HV works, LV distribution, M&E station upgrades and new builds, etc.
- You have experience with delivering projects to Network Rail standards and regulations. You are familiar with the relevant documentation and processes for the rail industry.
- You have good communication and collaboration skills. You are able to work effectively with the clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
- You have good organisational and planning skills. You are able to assist with the programming and monitoring of the projects using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- You have good technical and problem-solving skills. You are able to assist with the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the M&E and E&P works on site. You are also able to conduct tag and trace surveys, load monitoring, and electrical survey reports.
