Requirement
The individuals employed to undertake this work will:
- access a range of data sources to compile desk studies.
- compile desk studies into simple reports
- pass desk studies to site teams.
- review data collected by site teams.
- use information from desk studies and site teams to update drainage data using a GIS tool.
- accurately self-report on volume of work delivered.
To deliver this work individuals will:
- have a good level of competence in using common IT packages such as Word, Excel, basic document management.
- can learn how to use bespoke Network Rail IT packages with training.
- have basic GIS skills, or the ability to learn basic GIS skills with training.
The individuals should have a basic understanding of drainage, with a drainage, water engineering, civil engineering, flood risk management, environmental engineering, geography, or hydrology background, either obtained via formal study or work experience.
Essential:
- Experience in Asset engineering
- An understanding of the maintenance of asset management
- Knowledge of the relevant technical, safety and performance standards
- Holds relevant professional licences and technical qualifications, or capable of achieving within reasonable timescales.
Candidates should be able to provide.

a methodical approach to work
the ability to remain focused whilst undertaking a large volume of repetitive tasks.
the ability to follow a process.
