We are seeking a high calibre, Assistant Bridge Engineer to grow our established team and support the delivery of prestigious railway projects across the North West of England. The team prides itself in using great relationships with clients and contractors to successfully deliver the most challenging briefs with innovative engineering solutions.

This role is working in a fast-growing team that delivers a wide range of Rail Bridge and Civil Schemes. The team is 21 strong with a diverse mix of staff specialising in the design, strengthening and remediation of bridges in the rail market. The team has a strong track record in D&B work with strong links to contracting organisations.
The team prides itself in utilising long established relationships with clients and contractors to successfully deliver the most challenging briefs with innovative engineering solutions.
The team places a strong emphasis on professional development, with several recent examples of Chartership success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative concept design and detailed design of all aspects of railway infrastructure, with a focus on Rail Bridges and lineside civils;
- Structural design/analysis of rail bridges and other ancillary items;
- Production of F001/2/3’s, Form A/B’s, Design drawings and safety documentation;
- Contribution to tender activities.
Candidate Specification
Essential experience:
- 2-3 years post graduate experience in the design of bridges;
- Experience of working in the UK rail market;
- BEng/MEng Civil Engineering or equivalent;
- Working towards chartership with a relevant professional institution (ICE or IStructE);
- Commercially aware;
- Experience of successful delivery of detailed bridge designs in a D&B market;
- Knowledge of Rail Group Standards, NR Standards, UK design codes and Eurocodes;
- Demonstrable knowledge of Bridge design, analysis and remedial work;
- Essential experience in the analysis, design and detailing of steel and RC Concrete;
- Knowledge of CDM and CSM;
- Enthusiastic to learn.
