Position: BIM Engineer

Due to continuing investment in a centralised Engineering Technical support team an opportunity has arisen for a BIM Engineer to join one of the UK's leading Main Contracting organisations.
As a BIM Engineer, you will be responsible for proving coordination and technical input to a team of Temporary Works Designers who support the wider business covering Construction, Civil Engineering and Facilities Management.
You will be responsible for modelling of civil engineering and building structures in Micro station and ProjectWise, extract data from the model for use by designers and ensure alignment with multi-disciplinary models. You will ensure that you provide accurate models to client specifications.
This role would suit a Modeller with 2 - 3 years of experience who is looking to make the step into more of a coordination role whilst still retaining modelling responsibility.
Your softer skills will be just as vital as your technical knowledge - you will be emotionally intelligent, a good communicator, enthusiastic and passionate about BIM and in the upskilling of others in the platform.
Duties will include:
-Understand and support the delivery of Level 2 BIM using the industry standards
-Understand and implement BIM guidance documents, such as the CIC Protocol
-Evaluate Employers Information Requirements (EIRs), provide feedback and queries on EIRs to tender and project teams, and client technical BIM support, where necessary
-Deliver 3D models which meet client requirements and client, industry and corporate standards
-Use, populate, audit and manage the relevant Common Data Environment on projects, this will be hosted on the internet-based 4Projects, unless otherwise specified by the client
-Support and advise project teams in implementation of BIM, including deliverables such as COBie
-Deliver 3D and 4D models as specified on work request forms submitted from the project or tender team
-Conduct quality audits on BIM implementation on projects, record and communicate non-compliances to the project team and subcontractors/designers, where applicable
-Assist in managing BIM core team's workload
-Gives guidance and technical advice to develop others
-Communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
-Participate in technical discussions to develop solutions
To be considered for this role it is anticipated that you:
-Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or BIM Management
-Hold previous experience as a Modelller, circa 3 years
-Have a working knowledge of the relevant codes and standards
-Have good communication skills and work effectively in a team environment
-Be able to delegate and manage a team
-Have right to work in the UK
