Manchester with regular travel to Coventry and within the UK; and occasionally Europe
JOB DESCRIPTION
Manage all the service requirements included in rolling stock tenders (Maintenance, warranty services, life cycles costs etc.)
Customer focus – presentation of proposals, clarification of details and attending negotiations; attending meetings prior to and during the tender launch
Management of subcontractors during the tender phase
Following up on awarded projects to review lessons learnt and build best practice
The Bid Engineer will coordinate with the rest of the Bid Team regularly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participation in competitive tendering·
Preparation of the tenders and estimates for maintenance, guarantee, supply of spare parts, etc., including analysis of specifications, preparation of documentation and budgets.·
Presentation of the offers and subsequent meetings for clarification and negotiation.·
Attend meetings with potential clients during the pre-bid phases.·
Request and management of offers with suppliers if necessary.·
Monitoring and analysis of the awarded projects, for the preparation of the new offers (real costs of the project, results of reliability with respect to contractual, etc.).
Prepare and maintain details estimates for projects.·
Evaluate sub-contractors and suppliers quotations.·
Attend and participate at project progress meetings and other meetings as required.·
Understand and interpret technical specifications and drawings in order to produce tender and estimate documents

REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS
HND or above in an Engineering related discipline
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (E=Essential D=Desirable)
Substantial experience in the railway sector – E
Ideally the candidates should be from a rolling stock background - D
Full UK driving license - E
Candidate should have a sound working knowledge of procedures and processes undertaken in railways, knowledge of trains trade skills and their scope of work - D
LANGUAGES: English, Spanish would be a plus
