Bid Engineer

6+ Month Contract – to start immediately

£300/day - £400/day

Based in York option to work from home when required

Our client is a well established Rail company whose professionalism and well respected name have been instrumental in their success. They provide an exceptional service to their customers and are focused on continually improving this.

Our client is looking for a strong Bid Engineer with a rail Signalling background to ensure delivery of high quality, consistent Bid writing.

You will need:

Essential

• Previous experience of working as a Bid Engineer in a Rail environment
• Significant general signalling knowledge
• Experience of dealing with various size bids from 100k up to 50+ million
• An understanding, preferably with experience, of the way in which railway projects (and Signalling Projects) are managed and delivered
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a business or technically related discipline
• Ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels
• Automation, whilst fostering strong working relationships.
• Commercially astute, whilst dealing with technical issues with a client
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• A pro-active individual with high energy levels, who is used to working under pressure and to tight/challenging deadlines.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Visio.

The Role:

• Support the bid team in producing winning tenders through full bid lifecycle.
• From Bid/No-Bid through to customer negotiation and Contract Award.
• Bids will range in value from £100k up to £50+m.
• Support the definition and implementation of a winning bid strategy ensuring a breakdown of tender requirements
• Assist with the coordination of all technical aspects of the estimation and proposal creation process
• Preparation and coordination of engineering tender documentation ensuring high levels of consistency and quality.
• The development of contract specific specifications and documents to support the bids and tendering department
• Ensuring that the technical aspects of bids and tenders are delivered within time, to specification
