Due to exciting recent major project wins such as the Aberdeen to Inverness Rail Upgrade and other major CP5/CP6 Rail Infrastructure Projects AECOM is currently recruiting for Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) for stations Mechanical & Electrical and Trackside (signalling power and points heating) to join our well-established and experienced Rail teams in our Glasgow Office. Given recent project successes we now have frameworks in place with our Clients for up to the next ten years.
The requirements of the CRE role are defined by Network Rail standard :- NR/L2/INI/02009/F0040
As the CRE your main responsibilities will include the following:Assessing the competence and the appointment of all design engineers required to work for or on behalf of the organisation.
Ensure that appointees are competent and able to undertake the workload required and have both understood and accepted their responsibilities.Clearly identify and document the interfaces between all discipline EngineersBe accountable for all specified design; specifically its ability to integrate with all other designs, and existing infrastructure, and its compliance with all applicable standards, legislation, contract requirements and specifications.
Approving all designs and ensuring completion of the acceptance process;Implementation of a formal design integration process for all design documentation.
