Dual Skilled Engineer

Initial 6 Month Contract
£18.82 - £21.36 per hour

We are looking for a Dual Skilled Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) to work for a large Rail Company in Polmadie Glasgow working on the Caledonian Sleepers.

The contract will commence early October and will be for an initial 6-month period.

Hours
4 on/4 off shift pattern
10:00 - 20:00

Hourly Rate
£18.82/hour for all rostered hours - first 12 weeks
£21.36/hour for all rostered hours - after 12 weeks

Any unrostered overtime, outside of your scheduled working hours, is paid at £18.82 per hour.

Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be a senior team member, servicing, maintaining and repairing locomotives and units to laid-down specifications. Within the team you will ensure that traction and rolling stock are serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner whilst constantly seeking to improve quality.

You will be required to: -
* Work as directed by and in co-operation with the Production Manager and comply with all depot protection procedures
* Understand and abide with safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices of the H&SAW and the COSHH
* Work as part of a team, completing or assisting in any of the team's activities to ensure projects are completed on time to the relevant specification
* Be responsible for secondary fault finding (in depth) and incident brake testing
* Work with other team members and maintain good housekeeping systems of work areas
* Use IT systems related to work being done, including systems related to safety and quality

Qualifications
Key skills and requirements for the role include;
* Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualification of City and Guilds in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering
* Experience in railway unit / locomotive maintenance
* In-depth fault-finding experience
* Basic MS Office IT skills
