Complexity: The role consists of, but is not limited to the following activities:

To carry out efficient and cost effective installation/repair and maintenance of commercial electrical installations, annual servicing and minor works schemes.

Ability to interpret design drawings, electrical circuit diagrams, manufacturers specifications and instructions.

Carry out the servicing of commercial electrical appliances in accordance with the appliance manufacturer's specification and instructions.

Fault diagnosis and rectification of sub-standard appliances or installations in accordance with 17th/18th Edition regulations.

Installation of all types of commercial systems including the running of all cables (PVC, Data cabling, MICC, SWA etc) and fixing trunking (Plastic & Steel), cable tray and conduits in accordance with appropriate regulations.

Use of hand power tools on site.

Carry out repair/modification/replacement within the Electrical Craft as instructed.

Ability to work unsupervised

Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems (BMS)

Be flexible and adaptable in relation to working hours and provide maintenance cover by partaking of an 'On-Call' duty rota covering 24/7 approx every 4-5 weeks

Carry out all duties in compliance within statutory and HTM guidance:

Within a maintenance environment the post holder will be expected to carry out any reasonable request for which they have received training and is considered competent.

Assist in any other activity where a competent person is in attendance.

Understand the principles of H&S management procedures.

The Post holder may be required to carry various communication devices and use them in a way determined by the Facilities Manager.

Carry out repair/modification/replacement work within contract scope, as instructed by Supervisors/Management.

Completion and timely submission of appropriate documentation.

To undertake overtime as requested.
