Engineering Trainer & Assessor
£23.00 per hour (Umbrella Rate)
Job Description:
Rullion have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Engineering Competence Trainer, to join a large Rail (Rolling Stock) company in the North West. The role is based at Widnes, but will be required to travel to Manchester, Chester and Liverpool Train Care Centres if required.
Position is for a contractor with mechanical (and electrical if possible) level 3 qualifications, with both assessor and trainer qualifications.
You will be required to work to an average of 37 hours a week over a five day week. However, you must be flexible, as there will be an expectation in this role to follow the shift pattern of the shop floor workers, which will include days and nights.
Duration is initially 6 months. Position is likely to be longer due to upcoming projects that require attention.
Experience / Qualifications required:
* D32, A1 or equivalent.
* Training qualification (PTLLS or equivalent).
* ONC / HNC level education - an experienced rail candidate with a City & Guilds would also be acceptable.
* Must be I.T. literate.
* Previous rolling stock experience is desirable but not essential.
* Basic electrical knowledge is essential. You will need to know how to crimp as a minimum.
* Previous experience of working in a hands on role, for example as a Mechanical Fitter will be highly beneficial for applicants.
* Previous experience of carrying out technical trade assessments is essential.
* Experience of delivering safety related training such as: lifting operations, manual handling, fall arrest and lock out tag out is desirable.
* Ability to work as part of a team - critical.
The Role:
* You will be required to work in partnership with the Rullion On-Site Manager, with regards to Trade Assessments and Induction Days.
* The role will involve technically assessing Mechanical Fitters who apply to work on a project for our client. You will also be required to train current members of staff and contractors on site.
