Estimator/Cost Engineer in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom |
GBP £40000 to £55000 per annum |
Permanent
Estimators/Cost Engineers/Cost Planners required to join the commercial and procurement division of a major highways organisation on a permanent basis. This is an exciting time to be joining the organisation, as investment grows and they are involved in a huge number of major projects across the country to help improve the road user experience.
The Cost Engineer will be responsible for providing advice on cost planning and estimation matters on these schemes, dealing with contractors, operators and other service providers. You will be utilising current cost management tools, you will be reviewing estimates, providing input into the wider commercial team, leading and mentoring Assistant Cost Engineers and assessing performance as part of this challenging, but fulfilling role.
If you have relevant demonstrable experience of estimating in the construction sector (highways experience is not specifically required), with knowledge and expertise of a wide range of cost planning techniques, able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and ability to effectively use MS Project and other planning tools, I estimate this could be a role worth applying for.
We have a fair and comprehensive selection procedure. It is our policy that there should be equal opportunity for and no discrimination against applicants on the grounds of gender, race, religion or belief, nationality, colour, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, disability, age, marriage and civil partnership, union or non-union membership, socio-economic background or being a part-time or fixed term worker.
